Italy:

A contract was signed with Alenia-Aermacchi at the Dubai air show 2013 to convert three C-27J Spartans into MC-27J Gunships. Three more aircraft will received modifications to install the gunship equipment from the three converted aircraft.

Peru:

Aircraft ordered in two batches of two each, last order January 2015. First aircraft expected to be delivered in March and April 2015. Aircraft three and four in 2016 and 2017.

United States:

21 Spartans were ordered by the USAF. Due to budget constraints the aircraft were deemed to be to expensive to operate and withdrawn from service (ANG aircraft) or never entering service but stored. Special Operations Command will aquire seven aircraft of these aircraft. The remaining 14 will be transferred to the US Coast Guard, in return the USCG will transfer C-130 Hercules aircraft to the USAF.
