Australia:

The F/A-18A to F/A-18D models are referred to as legacy Hornets. The F/A-18E/F are known as Super Hornet and the EA-18G as Growler.

EA-18G:

One of four EA-18G Growlers deployed at Nellis AFB to participate in Red Flag 18-1 suffered a possible engine fire and coming to rest at the side of the runway on Saturdat January 27, 2018. Both crewmembers escaped the aircraft unharmed.

Canada:

Designated its Hornets CF-188 and CF-188B but in above overview listed as F/A-18A and F/A-18B respectively. The same applies for Spain with the EF-18A and EF-18B.

On 22nd November Canada announced it will open a transparant competition to replace its Hornet fleet. Of the original 138 aircraft 77 remain operational. As interim meassure the Canadian government intends to purchase F/A-18A and F/A-18B Hornets from the Royal Australian Air Force.

Kuwait:

The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) approved a possible sale of 40 Boeing Defense Super Hornets. The announcement was made on November 17th, 2016. Kuwait made a request to purchase 32 F/A-18E and 8 F/A-18F aircraft. When contracted the sale will be concluded by through Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. The Super Hornets will replace the current 'legacy' Hornets in service.

On April 5th, 2016 Kuwait ordered 28 Eurofighters (tranche 3) divided into 22 EF-2000s and 6 EF-2000(T)s.

Spain:

Purchased 24 F/A-18As from the US Navy to augment their fleet of EF-18A/B Hornets.
