We had planned to visit Hualien, after Taitung, but the weather in the
northern part of Taiwan was clouded and rainy. We decided to stay more
south and central. We crossed the mountains again to visit Chiayi
located more in the center of the country and its west coast. 4 Tactical
Fighter Wing has three F-16A/B squadron assigned. The Taiwanese air
force is in the process of upgrading the fighting falcons to F-16V Block
70 standard. Planned are 141 conversion and in addition Taiwan bought 66
new F-16V's.
