Comment(s): Fort Worth, Texas: built F-35A's F-001 until F-008 (all based in the United States). Cameri, Italy: built F-35A's F-009 onwards (based at Leeuwarden and Volkel Air Bases). F-001 and F-002 participated in the OT&D. After their delivery, they were first stationed at Eglin AFB, FL. They were then flown to Edwards AFB, CA. After completing the OT&D, both F-35s were flown to Luke AFB, AZ and assigned to NODF-35 (308th FS, 56th FW). Aviation websites refer to the decommissioning of the F-001 and F-002. However, the latest F-35 annual report (2023 published April 2024) does not talk about it. Based on the report, the allocation of the 52 F-35s is as follows: NODF-35 (8), 322 squadron (15), 313 squadron (15), 312 squadron (13), unknown (1). The latter would then be the F-35A that will participate in the continuation of OT&D.
