Several civilian companies offer contracted air
support to air arms. These relate to air-to-air, air-to-ground,
air-to-air refuelling, fleet missile defense and other missions. By
contracting a civilian company the air arms free up flight hours which
are use to train their pilots. Else these would be flying red air
mission in support of their colleagues.
